Just a bunch of tracks that I like played in an orderly fashion
Synthesizer historian, crazy website builder, electro legend, editor of the Shadow Wolf Cyberpunk zine and above all, prolific musician. Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt is the 409th person to deliver a podcast in the weekly Resident Advisor series, and it’s a seriously nice mix. Great selection, unobtrusive mixing and deep spaced out vibe. Here’s what he has to say about the mix, more info and a tracklist here. Now press play and take off.
How and where was the mix recorded?
In my house on a computer, record player, cassette deck, INKEL mixing desk, Boss drum machine and a Concertmate MG 1 Moog synthesizer for effects and some additional melodies. It came in the mail when I was recording the mix and I wanted to check it out so I just incorporated it in there. It’s an old synth that was designed by Moog to be sold in the Radioshack stores for consumers and low-key hobbyists.
Can you tell us about the idea behind the mix?
Just a bunch of tracks that I like played in an orderly fashion, going up and down in intensity—with some added FX, samples and synths—providing, I hope, some pleasure, solace and inspiration for the listener in their daily business and life.
