va – impressed volume 3 (universal jazz uk 2006, unreleased) album

In a definite case of  “life stranger than fiction” the man behind  the now-classic first two volumes of the”Impressed with Gilles Peterson” series, Tony Higgins, decided to bless the Orgy in Rhythm blog with the third and final installment in the series. This third volume was compiled, researched by Tony Higgins with no involvement from Gilles Peterson, and ready for release in 2006… until Universal Jazz UK decided against it. In a bizarre twist of faith the album is now available after all. I have taken the liberty of creating a cover for it since no cover was included in the original leak.

Sohee!

Please get your facts right .Had you read my Impressed 3 post properly you would have realised this compilation has nothing to do with Gilles Peterson in any way shape or form and was put together by Tony Higgins who was actually the moving force behind vols 1 & 2.Thus the artwork you have assembled is both wrong and misleading.I am also irritated that you have included YOUR incorrect cover. I object to the addition of your cover into what is a comprehensive package of what should have been Impressed 3. Please can you remove your artwork from here and your divshare dload.

      Hi Bacoso,

first things first: thank you and especially Tony Higgins for blessing us with the great third volume in this series! I have edited my original post to reflect that

      a) while the first two comps were “headlined” by GP it was Tony Higgins doing the actual work, and
      b) the cover in the post is my own handiwork. I’m a visual person, and love the covers for the first two volumes of Impressed. Since the third volume didnt have one, i took the liberty of rounding out the package of the tracks, linernotes and collages with one of my one. I have removed GP’s name from it since he has nothing to do with this.

Cortez you have every right to make your own cover and I have no issues with this whatsoever. What I had an issue with is that Peterson did not compile or play any part in Impressed 3 where your cover credits him as such .
The adjusted cover looks fine – Incidentally you are the third person to put their own cover to this comp-and all of them have put Peterson’s name on it!!!

      Hi Bacoso,

Glad to hear the changes i made are in line with both Tony Higgins’ and your intentions; thanks again for providing the platform that enabled the surfacing of Impressed 3!
